SDMI

The Secure Digital Music Initiative brings together the worldwide recording industry and technology companies to develop an open, interoperable architecture and specification for digital music security. The specification answers consumer demand for convenient accessibility to quality digital music, enable copyright protection for artists’ work, and enable technology and music companies to build successful businesses. We are working to have the “D Check” mark included on websites that have received licenses from the major U.S. copyright holders so that consumers will have a way of telling which sites are authorized and which are not.

For more information on SDMI or D Check, please contact the RIAA at 202-775-0101.
