Piracy hurts the music community!

A recent study by the Institute for Policy Innovation disclosing the economic damages upon the US economy by music piracy found that global music piracy causes $12.5 billion in economic losses every year and approximately 71,060 U.S. lost jobs
(see document) .It’s having a very real and harmful impact on countless musicians, songwriters, and performers—virtually everyone, from recording engineers to record-store clerks, who dream about making a living providing music to the public. The theft of music has comprised the industry’s ability to invest in the new bands of tomorrow.  We are trying to do all we can – most important, offer exciting legal options – to encourage fans to enjoy music legally.

It’s illegal!

The unauthorized reproduction and distribution of copyrighted music is JUST AS ILLEGAL AS SHOPLIFTING A CD. Sharing music on peer-to-peer networks like Ares, BitTorrent, Gnutella, Limewire, and Morpheus is against the law. The rules are very simple. Unless you own the copyright, it’s not yours to distribute.
